LEAD 5840 - The Leader as a Manager (3 Credits)
Effective leadership requires management skills that create the routines that stabilize both the leader and the surrounding organization. This stability is connected to the culture that the leader creates and nurtures. The management style provides direction for organizational behaviors and expectations. In this course the student will study management and cultural principles that engender successful organization. These authors skillfully use analogies to graphically illustrate these key principles. The learning outcome will be the discovery of principles of management that will increase the organizations effectiveness and efficiency.
